Residential Towers FAQ’s

Do all towers have guy wires?

No, in fact most of the towers we build do not require guy wires.

How tall does my tower have to be?

At Rountree Towers, we take the guess-work out of the issue of height by flying a drone and ensuring that we have line of sight from your home to the internet tower which will provide service to your home or business.

What is the average height of a residential internet tower?

The vast majority of towers we build are between 40 and 60 feet tall. However, we do build towers up to 199 feet.

What does a tower look like?

Nearly all of the towers we build are triangular shaped galvanized metal structures that are either 11 or 15 inches on a side. The factors determining which will be used in any give situation will be explained during the site survey/drone flight. Examples can be seen on our website here.

What is the least expensive way to build a tower?

When possible, the most cost-effective tower build is one in which the tower is both embedded in the ground as well as attached/bracketed to the side of a structure such as a home, garage, barn or some other out-building.

How much space will my tower take up?

With towers which are both embedded and bracketed to a structure, the largest portion of the space taken up will be the hole we dig in the ground which will be approximately 30 inches in diameter.

How much does a tower cost?

Our towers begin at $2900 and more than half of the towers we build are less than $3800. The more expensive towers are those which are free-standing, guyed and/or must be built with the heavier material in order to meet safety standards.
